    Burnout and high stress levels are prevalent among professional fundraisers. Society, volunteers and even colleagues often don't understand what the job of a fundraiser really entails.

    On this conference we will put forward some stories by fundraisers who experienced these troubles. And we will try to provide some guidance in how to cope with the stress of having to deal with unrealistic targets, with the misunderstanding or lack of understanding of fundraising, with always having to justify your job.

    What is ethical fundraising? During this conference we will organise a debate on what is ethical fundraising, professional fundraisers, philosophist(s), providers and academists will be respresented. 

    KU Leuven will present the first results on a doctoral research on 'Ethics in Fundraising'. The study among other things gauges the perceptions and opinions of Flemish donors with regard to the various fundraising activities that charitable organizations can undertake.
